ON A NEED TO KNOW BASIS

people are always quoting famous philosophers (mostly nietzsche) and flaunting their book collections as if to portray an image to outsiders looking in allowing the viewer/reader to have a preconceived idea of that person's mentality or apparently leftfield psyche. i once saw a guy in kloof street donning a tee that read 'i read bukowski'. one always trying to outdo and outwit the other. a constant (proverbial) intellectual battle.

same with politics, folk ranting and arguing about american foreign policy, mangaung etc and these are sometimes hipster trust fund kids but they pretend to be grown up and intellectual.

all you need to know is the dude's name 'case you come across a question playing 30seconds (i got that after seeing charles de gaulle on one of the cards). i only know his name and who he was and that aƩroport lieu (french with michel thomas).
its great when this sorta thing's not taken seriously, like this one episode of seinfeld there's a brief bit about who they thought the world's ugliest leader is.. what more do you need?

.. and these python sketches >
