mondays aren't that bad. when it really starts going pear shaped is when everyone starts being mildly tweegevriet (2-faced) and acting all chipper asking each and all "how was your weekend? you have a good weekend?!"
does anyone really care about the weekend of another? if blanche tells sedrick she had a great weekend does it really matter to him? was he really concerned or was the common courtesy taken too far? the most/best one can/should do is greet in a civil manner (with a smile), ask how they're doing and continue with a smiel and a lekke nod. trust me, they're not gona walk away bitter about the fact that you didnt ask about their weekend, although i think some do, mostly the idiots who are dying to tell you about their drunken night out which they cant really remember anyway.
this is perhaps unnecessary but when all you hear early on a mondane morning is "how was your weekend? you have a good weekend?!" "how was your weekend? you have a good weekend?!"
"how was your weekend? you have a good weekend?!" "how was your weekend? you have a good weekend?!" "how was your weekend? you have a good weekend?" you feel just a tad overwhelmed and somewhat irritated.
generally they don't elaborate on their "good" weekend which kind of defeats the supposed purpose of the question.
problem : "how was your weekend? you have a good weekend?!"
solution : "good question..."
at which point you disappear in a plume of smoke.
